Best Thai food we’ve had outside of Thailand. Seriously! The place was packed - usually a good sign. But we were seated right away and the food came fast. We ordered 5 different things and every single one was great! The waitress was super sweet to our 4 year old and helped him select something he’d never tried. Would definitely recommend this place.

I loved this place. The decor is amazing the ambiance is great, but the food... wow! Some of the best Thai I've had. My girlfriend had the drunken noodles which were so good she kept on talking about them even after we left and I had the yellow curry which was prepared to perfection. The only downside was that the service was a bit slow, there was not a lot of people in the locale when we were there yet it took a lot longer than expected to get our dishes and our bill.

Better than going to Thailand, there when you order a fish or other seafood they give you the whole thing! I would call this place North American civilized. The taste explosion, without the eyeballs! Beautiful restaurant, very nice polite Thai wait staff, excellent menu choices and yes, quite inexpensive considering the quality. Seldom do you order as much food as we did, in such a great quality and quantity, and say...wow, that was cheap!

Very nice place, we a decor that kinda takes you out of the city and makes you feel like you're on a little vacation. Today we stopped in for a light bite, and shared the appetizer platter and some Yom Yum soup. Beautiful presentation. Definitely worth checking out.

The interior decor is nice and fitting for SalaThai. We only came in for dessert. We ordered the black sticky rice and fried banana with coconut ice cream. They were both yummy!

We have gone to Sala Thai two times now and have received excellent service from being greeted, to seated, to served. The staff is always very friendly and the food is exceptional. We have never had a problem being seated and the presentation of the food is very professional. There isn't one dish that we did not enjoy eating. The staff would always come and attend to us in order to see if we required any topping up of what we were drinking or to take away empty plates. This is a very authentic Thai Food Restaurant in Vancouver. During one of the two visits we had here, one of the owners took his time to explain a brief history of Thailand and his restaurant came to be. This really added to our experience here. Thank you Sala Thai.

We enjoy hanging out. Yesterday we arrived in this superb restaurant which friends told us about. We passed a beautiful time there with fine dishes and an efficient crew and a great cook. We added this fine restaurant in our phone list and we will certainly return very soon. We warmly recommend.

Friend made us reservations here as it can get pretty busy. We ordered spicy pad Thai, the pineapple rice and a few others with that 3 chilli spice level. It actually felt mild so we upgraded it to 4 chilli's and it starts to kick in. It smells really good and tastes good too, pretty fast service and really nice atmosphere overall. Really enjoyed the visit, price is a bit on the high end but portions are big so we decided to share and it felt just right.

Looking for something more than your usual Thai food? This is the place to go. They really take their food to the next level with presentation and service. I've been a few times and the service is always good. The food is a little bit pricier depending on the item, but it is tasty. Tonight, I had their special, which was the Pad Thai Chao Wang with soft shell crab. This pad Thai has a tamarind sauce. I really enjoyed this dish. It actually came with quite a few pieces of soft shell crab for just $3 more than the regular pad Thai. My friend ordered the $31 set menu. It came with 2 appetizers, 3 sample sizes of mains, and dessert. I think it is worth it if you want to try different dishes. Definitely check this place out. They're conveniently located near Scotiabank theatre, so it'd be a perfect dinner and movie combo.

This place has been around forever, one would think it would be good, unfortunately it is not. The location is in the heart of the shopping district, the decor inside is warm and inviting, the food is not good. The cashew chicken is subpar, one could get it cheaper and better tasting in a mall, they charge for rice. The tom yum did not taste of tamarind but I definitely got some serious notes of white vinegar. Bottom line is everything looked good but failed epically on delivery and taste! The service consisted of random folks dropping off food without hellos or goodbyes. The place was practically empty so busy would not be a valid excuse. I do not recommend this place for memorable Thai food.

It's okay. The location is quite central to downtown so the place naturally gets a lot of foot traffic, and the decor inside is interesting - not necessarily well designed, but interesting. The food is again, okay. The beef skewers were overcooked and hard as a rock, but the chicken skewers were decent. Tom Yum soup had flavour, but lacked depth. Curry was not bad, but not spectacular or memorable in any way.Being where it's located, I can understand why the prices are the way they are... But there are definitely cheaper and better Thai restaurants if you care to venture outside of downtown.

Beautiful decor! Wonderful service! Food was fantastic! Amazing flavours of the curries. The ingredients tasted so fresh and just elevated the whole dish. One dish is sufficient quantities for about 2 people. Must order rice separate. Street parking available. Clean restrooms.

Questions & Answers

No free parking. This is downtown Vancouver...there is lots of parkades, especially because of the movie theater next door.

There are paid parking lots nearby as well as street parking
